Rajkotupdates.News : Elon Musk In 2022 Neuralink Start To Implantation Of Brain Chips In Humans

Rajkotupdates.News : Elon Musk in 2022 Neuralink start to implantation of brain chips in humans which could prove a leading breakthrough in the medical and technology community. Since 2019, Elon Musk has been trying to seek permission to experiment with the human brain. However, every time he takes the initiative, Musk gets rejected by higher authorities.

Elon Musk is the world’s richest man, owner of the car company Tesla Inc., CEO of the social media app Twitter, president of the Musk Foundation, and founder of Boring Company, Neurali,nk, and Open AI.

Neuralink is a medical gadget company founded in 2016 by Elon Musk. The basic purpose of Neuralink is to facilitate disabled humans to function as normal ones and cure intractable diseases like paralysis and blindness. The company develops brain-computer chips (BCIs).

In short, creating cyborgs (connecting humans with mechanical body parts or brain interfaces that can decipher neural signals). This isn’t some fiction or episode of a film, but the astounding reality and hovering future.

Neuralink is geared up for human trials for revolutionary brain implants. However such massive scope projects require the approval of regulators like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Until early 2022, the biotech company worked without the discretion of the FDA.

Musk expects to start human tests in the upcoming six months as his company Neuralink has developed a brain chip. The philanthropist assured the collaborators that he took no gamble on the safety concerns and had taken careful measures for “putting a device into a human.” Moreover, he also shared that he had plans to implant a chip himself.

FDA stressed various issues that could arise from human experiments and rejected the Neuralink proposal until they address the outlined issues. The agency’s primary concern was the safety concerns of humans during the tedious procedures involving lithium battery implantation.

The chips that the company would use contained tiny wires to be implanted which were responsible for migrating to other parts of the brain for satisfactory functioning.

Secondly, they raised the question of the methods for removing the chips from the brain without damaging the nearby tissues or neurons. Further, they inquired about the high failure rate of brain surgeries due to the intricacy of risky implantations.

Even after several rejections, Musk hasn’t backed up from his stance and is optimistic about getting approval by this spring.

In a previous presentation of Neuralink with investors, Elon Musk told everyone that he had submitted all the paperwork for the experiments to the agency without disclosing any information about the expanse and details of the project.

How could Rajkotupdates.News : Elon Musk in 2022 Neuralink start to implantation of brain chips in humans to prove valuable

The brain interfaces developed by Neuralink would prove beneficial for restoring a person's vision and full body functionality. | whatsmind.com

The brain interfaces developed by Neuralink would prove beneficial for restoring a person’s vision and full body functionality. Even if a person is born disabled (blind, lack of movement, impaired verbal communication, disconnected spinal cord, or missing any organ or body part), will be able to function fully.

The chip interface targets the motor cortex and they could enable “superhuman cognition” (according to the CEO of Twitter). Furthermore, the interfaces could also restore autism and schizophrenia.

Musk also assured the investors in a meeting that wireless chips are also in the manufacturing phase. And through clinical trials, the progress these interfaces made is quite slow. However, scientists are doing their utmost to bring it on the “scale in parallel” to the theoretical exponential.

A year ago, Neuralink debuted a chip that it developed while carrying out experiments on animals. A video that was shown in the “Show and Tell” conference revealed a skull playing “telepathic video games” and claimed that soon humans would be able to “control a computer mouse or their phone” or any other gadget just by cognition.

The dark side of Rajkotupdates.News : Elon Musk in 2022 Neuralink start to implantation of brain chips in humans

The BCIs manufacturing company was under fire for breaching the principles of animal experimentation and the alleged treatment of monkeys. The internal bleeding, paralysis, seizures, deterioration in mental and physical health, and infection of monkeys used in trials were reported.

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine called on Musks to release the details about the experimentation on monkeys and apparent injuries imposed on them during trials.

Pittsburgh School of Medicine assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology Xing Chen condemns Elon Musk’s experiments for skepticism due to the FDA’s continuous rejections. She stressed the point that people should always keep in mind that approval and relentless examination from government regulators and FDA are necessary for such enormous projects.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) is also researching Neuralink after the spread of news about their horrible animal treatment — rushed experiments inducing additional suffering and deaths of pigs, sheep, and monkeys.

DOT is investigating whether they are transporting destructive pathogens from the chips removed from the brains of the animals without proper contamination or safe disposal regulations.

Criticism and applause — Rajkotupdates.News : Elon Musk in 2022 Neuralink start to implantation of brain chips in humans

Many people were awed at the billion-dollar investment of Elon Musk and looked forward to a technological-driven future. In contrast, many opposed human trials due to higher stakes and ethical purposes.

Chen was in great support of the tech-med company’s milestone. Chen shared his statistics about Parkinson, epilepsy, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). According to him, such diseases have an increased cure rate from brain implants. And if Musk’s ambitions become reality, there will be an “improved quality of life.”

Bob Nelson also said he would never bet against Musk and invested in his medical company.

Whereas, Assistant professor of Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Anna Wexler showed her concern for this project. Wexler said it’s awful to raise the hopes of disabled people, particularly when there is the possibility of injury during the surgery.

Anna Wexler encouraged people to put on ”skeptic hats” for the utopian dreams of Musk and narrated that the hype about cyborgs is distressing due to “ethical perspectives.” Wexler continued that acquiring space or Twitter is plausible but taking medical context implies higher stakes.

It’s necessary to look at the accomplishments of BCIs before supporting or discouraging its endeavors. In recent years, the BCI has made big strides around the globe. Companies like Blackrock Neurotech, Paradomics, and Synchron have geared up for their human trials in 2023.

What are your impressions about Rajkotupdates.News : Elon Musk in 2022 Neuralink start to implantation of brain chips in humans? Would you support Elon Musk in his impossible endeavors or contradict him?
